So, you have been wondering how to clean your LCD monitor screen but don't know how to do it. Before the days of LCD screens, all you needed to clean a monitor was window cleaner and a paper towel, but now you need special equipment to properly and safely clean your screen. So by using the correct methods and taking proper precautions, you can clean your LCD screen safely.

Firstly turn off the screen of your monitor and or set the background to black and hide all the desktop icons and minimize the open windows. This will easily help you identify the dirty areas of the monitor. Once you have identified the dirty or greasy areas, then the next step is to plan out the way for cleaning it.

Find a proper piece of cloth for cleaning the screen. Old cotton handkerchiefs lying in your mom's wardrobe should be fine but don't try tissue papers, toilet rolls or even shower towels as the fabric will scratch your screen permanently [like sandpaper or utensil scrubbers.

Remember that the LCD screen of your computer is just like the delicate skin of a newborn baby. So be very gentle while rubbing the cloth across the surface and never put even the slightest pressure on the computer screen with your hand. Pushing directly on the LCD screen can often cause pixels to burn out.

To prepare the solution for cleaning LCD monitors, you will need deionized or distilled water and vinegar or isopropyl alcohol - Don't use tap water or mineral water as they could leave white marks on the screen because of the dissolved salts. Do not use any solutions that contain Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. Another important advice is to never touch the LCD screen with your fingers.

The above methods are quite simple to follow and you will be able to clean the LCD screen without any hassles!
